How to use this online graphing calculator
Choose degrees or radians. Use the scientific keypad for arithmetic, or enter up to four Y= functions to graph, trace and build a table.
The interface is intended for everyday study on a laptop or phone. Start in Scientific for expressions; use Graph & table to compare functions without leaving this page. How the calculation works
Expressions use real-number arithmetic. Parentheses and functions come first, then factorial, powers, nCr/nPr, multiplication and division, and addition and subtraction. Powers at the same level are evaluated left to right: 2^3^2 is 64. Use 2^(3^2) for 512. Unary minus is outside powers: -2^2 is -4.
Multiplication may be implied, as in 2x or 3(x+1). It has the same priority as division, evaluated left to right: 1/2x means (1/2)*x. Functions require parentheses. log means base 10; ln means natural logarithm. Use a decimal point and no thousands separators. Commas separate arguments, for example nCr(5,2).
Degrees or radians apply to trigonometric inputs and inverse-trigonometric answers in both the scientific calculator and graph. Changing the mode re-evaluates the current expressions; it does not convert a typed angle. Pi is a constant in either mode.
Graphs numerically sample real-valued functions inside the chosen window. Undefined samples and sharp jumps break the line. Sampling can miss small gaps, isolated points or very fast oscillations; use the table and narrower windows to investigate. A line on screen is not a symbolic proof of continuity.
The zero finder uses a sign-changing bracket and bisection, accepting only a sampled residual below 1e-9. It can find one zero in a continuous interval. It does not find all roots, reliably detect every discontinuity, or usually find repeated roots without a sign change. Display rounds to 12 significant digits; calculations use ordinary floating-point arithmetic.
Worked example
For a scientific calculation, sqrt(3^2+4^2) returns 5. For a graph, enter Y1=x^2-4 and Y2=x. At x=2 the table shows Y1=0 and Y2=2. Search Y1 between x=0 and x=3 to approximate its positive zero at x=2. In degree mode, sin(30) is approximately 0.5.
Limits and compatibility
An independently built TI-84-style alternative, not a Texas Instruments product or a TI-84 hardware/ROM emulator. It supports real-number scientific math and Cartesian y=f(x) graphs. TI-BASIC/Python programs, calculator file imports, matrices, complex numbers, symbolic algebra, statistics/distributions, polar and parametric graphs, and exam modes are not supported. This website is not an approved exam calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a free online TI-84 emulator?
It is a free, independently built TI-84-style calculator for common scientific and graphing tasks. It does not run the TI operating system or reproduce every TI-84 function. No ROM, physical calculator, subscription or account is required.
How do I graph a function?
Open Graph, type the right side of y=f(x) into Y1, such as x^2-4, and choose your window. Leave unused rows empty. Add up to four functions, select which curves to display, and use Trace or Table for numerical values.
Can I use my keyboard?
Type expressions directly. Enter evaluates and adds an item to the scientific history. Backspace and the arrow keys edit normally. The on-screen keypad also inserts at the cursor. Use parentheses for function arguments.
Why is part of a graph missing?
A function may be undefined for those x values, outside the selected y range, or too steep for this sampled view. For example, sqrt(x) has no real values for x<0 and 1/x is undefined at zero. A blank region is not necessarily a calculation error.
Are my expressions saved or uploaded?
Calculations stay in this page. History is temporary and resets on reload. Table CSV and graph SVG files are downloaded only when you choose; no expressions or results are sent to an external calculation service.
Can I use this for a test or run TI-84 programs?
Do not assume this website is permitted in an exam. It has no approved test mode and does not run TI programs or calculator files. Check the exam provider’s allowed devices and software.
